Enter your address and this spiffy little site, Walkscore.com, will rate your neighborhood on its scale of walkability. It maps out the businesses, schools, restaurants and parks, listing what’s nearby and how far it is from your house.
I scored a 54 from my house.
It has its kinks, like recommending that I go grocery shopping at Whole Foods. Guess it hasn’t figured out that the MoPac and 183 flyovers aren’t exactly walkable. But give it a try anyway.
